"Toonmals" is a Shetland word meaning "land used for grazing that is adjacent to a croft (cottage)".
My great grandparents were born in the Shetland Isles and I still have many relatives there. I am constantly striving to keep breeding my Shetlands true to the type bred in the Shetlands now and in the past being small ponies with lovely heads, good strong thick bone and wonderful temperament.
